the Diploma in Public Health, should have early consideration. G. Clinical Professorships.

There should be consultations between the Government and

University authorities as to the desirability and feasibility

of incorporating the posts of Professor of Surgery, Professor

of Medicine and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology into

the Colonial Medical Service.

The question of combining the posts of Professor of

Fathology and Government Bacteriologist should also be considered.

. Training of Nurses.

Adequate facilities for the training of Nurses and Midwives

ahould be restored and both the Nurses and Midwives Boards should

be re-constituted as soon as practicable.

Health Inspectors and Health Visitors.

Arrangements should be made for the resumption of courses

of instruction and training for Health and Senitary Inspectors Head in Visitors

and for the re-establishment of the Hong Kong Board of Examiners

of the Royal Sanitary Institute.

Consideration should be given to the provision of courses

for Health Inspectors and Health Visitors in the School of Public

Health or Institute of Hygiene, when established.

Medical Institutions.

Notwithstanding the difficulties likely to be encountered in the way of staff and equipment, every effort should be made to

re-open existing hospitals and, if necessary, to equip and

staff emergency hospitals to meet the needs of the population.

Adequate accommodation for the segregation and treatment

of cases of infectious diseases, mental patients and lepers should

be provided.

Steps should be taken to arrange for the transfer of mental

/patients
